It’s actually too bad we didn’t miss the first period because the guys didn’t show up. They had 1 - that’s one - shot on net. They played the whole period in their end. They played great in the 2nd, especially considering marlies are a top team, and it’s too bad they let in that late goal after coming back to make it 2-1. That seemed to take the wind out of their sails. I left after our powerplay early in the 3rd to go to Sarah’s game and apparantly didn’t miss much as it ended 5-1.

I have to say… Nikulin sucks. He should go back to Russia next year. He forechecks like the girls on my daughter’s team that are chickens… one hand on the stick and floating by. He can’t stickhandle either, he got the puck in open ice once and heard footsteps and coughed it up. He made a nice pass once and another time coughed it up.

He tried a play twice that I have only seen in junior. He’s carrying the puck and when a player forechecks him he stops, pulls back, and rifles the puck to the far side. This is what a chicken does, not a hockey player. I think he is afraid of getting hit. He also doesn’t cover anybody in our zone, he just floats. He has gone downhill since the first month and I am out of his fan club.

Still like Zubov though… they haven’t yet figured out to give him the puck at our blueline and let him generate some creativity. He skates hard and makes nice plays though.

Firs time I’ve seen May play, I love him.
